The YVR Skytrain (above and below ground subway-type train) is the quickest way to get from Vancouver International Airport to downtown Vancouver. It is fast, convenient, clean and most important very safe with a travel time of only 25 minutes and fare of $9.25.

There are many taxis serving YVR. Cars are no older than seven years and all drivers must speak English. The cost for a cab between Vancouver Airport and downtown Vancouver is approximately $35. Uber and Lyft are also available in Vancouver.

Domestic Flights - From the arrivals level take the escalator down to level 1, walk by the 7-eleven convenience store and out the doors, cross the road and take the steps down into the car rental area. If you rent your own vehicle, expect the driving time into the city to be about 30 minutes. Plan on dressing in light layers and pack a rain jacket and an umbrella for wet days. If you’re thinking about heading up to the local mountains, make sure you bring a warmer layer as well as gloves, scarf, and a hat. Bring some good walking shoes – Vancouver is a great place to explore on foot so wear comfortable broken in shoes!
